About The Book
Know Your Roots, Know Your Truth is more than a workbook—it’s an invitation for children to discover who they are, where they come from, and how their story can shape who they become.
Created to guide children on a journey of self-discovery, the workbook helps them uncover their family history, reflect on their identity, and build a deeper connection to their cultural heritage. Through stories, drawing, interviews, and reflection activities, students begin to see history not just as something in the past, but as a living tool for problem-solving, leadership, and community-building.
Rooted in love, culture, and the wisdom of our ancestors, this resource supports both classroom learning and personal growth. It plants the seed for a generation of history-conscious, culturally grounded, and future-ready African children—wherever they are in the world.
Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or school leader, this workbook offers a way to make history personal, joyful, and powerful.

#NameAndMeaningChallenge
In many African cultures, names are not just words. They are stories. They carry the hopes, struggles, blessings, and heritage of those who came before us. A name can hold the memory of a grandparent, the dream of a mother, or the prayer of a village.
But today, many children are growing up not knowing the deep meaning behind their names. Some have names that were shortened, changed, or even erased. This challenge is about reclaiming that power—one name at a time.
Join the #NameAndMeaningChallenge as we invite children (and even adults) to proudly say their names and share the meaning behind them.
Whether your name means “joy,” “warrior,” “born during the rain,” or “she who brings peace,” your story matters—and it’s time to tell it.
How to Participate:
-
Say your full name proudly on camera.
-
Share its meaning or origin.
-
Tag a friend or family member and ask them to do the same.
-
Use the hashtag #NameAndMeaningChallenge.
